Feet First is hiring a contractor to assist with writing and graphic design to formalize materials used for walk to school campaigns.
This project must be completed by June 20th. The total budget for this project is $5,000. Travel to meetings will be the responsibility of the contractor.
Deliverable Requested: Create a guide called: “How to Develop a Safe Routes to School Encouragement Campaign At Your School”. The goal is to incorporate walk to school campaign materials into an easy-to-use reference guide. (This is not a comprehensive Safe Routes to School guide, but rather complement to the materials currently available.) More about Safe Routes to School:
There is a wealth of personal and societal benefit in the simple practice of walking to school. In the past 30 years, active commuting has quietly taken second place to car culture, and today a mere 13% of children arrive at school on their own two feet. The results are skyrocketing rates of childhood obesity, related health problems, environmental degradation, safety and general quality of life issues, which disproportionately affect urban poor, new immigrants and people of color.
