Why Sponsor Feet First?

Brand Positioning

Reinforce your reputation as a leader that invests in the local community. Feet First’s members range widely in terms of age, income, and interests, and they all share an interest in supporting community health. Members are focused on fighting obesity and increasing safety through walking routes to and from school. They are also advocates of the many economic benefits of a walkable neighborhood. While other members enjoy incorporating a healthy, sustainable lifestyle by exploring neighborhoods by foot.

Let your customer base and other stakeholders know that you care about the health and vibrancy of the community that supports you.
"We all benefit from a more walkable city. Most of my customers live or work within walking distance from the pub. The more walkable the city is, the better my business does and the safer the streets become as our visitors choose to walk to and from the pub."
—Bob Brenlin, Owner of Latona Pub

Exposure

The audience for sustainable urban design topics continues to grow, as record populations move toward lifestyles that provide convenient and easy ways to go by foot. Feet First interacts regularly with local political officials to discuss transportation issues, and has seen its membership take off, having doubled over the past year.

Our events are promoted on a monthly basis through local newspapers, neighborhood blogs, social media channels, and partner organizations, accruing a reach far beyond membership.

Walk & Talks

Walk & Talks take the public on a short walk showcasing local development projects designed to promote walking. Each event ends with a reception.

Stairway Walks Day

Over a dozen guided urban explorations of the Puget Sound Region’s beautiful outdoor stairways, attracting hundreds of participants, highlighting the awesome elevation changes, and discussing the individual characteristics and historical context of the stairways. This event is held each year on Neighbor Appreciation Day, which falls on the first Saturday in February.

Hand-Truckin’ Earth Day

Teams compete in a 10 mile relay walk-a-thon to transport kegs of beer from the Stadium District to Green Lake using only human-powered movement to celebrate Earth Day in April!
