Walk & Talks
We believe every person has the power to affect change. Neighborhood Walk & Talk events are opportunities to connect community members with city leaders while introducing helpful resources and tools for creating change in their own neighborhoods.
Feet First quarterly Walk & Talk events foster active, civic engagement and are designed to showcase area redevelopment that incorporates features to promote walking and to make people more aware of the importance of safe, inviting, accessible places for people to walk.
Our Walk & Talks have taken us throughout the region exploring the Seattle waterfront, low income hosing development, land use changes and rapid ride and the connector trail linking a new housing development, school and retail.
Our Walk & Talks are intended to:
- Highlight common interests of stakeholders as they relate to neighborhood walkability.
- Provide a forum for open discussion about safety, accessibility, and comfort issues as they relate to walking in the neighborhood.
- Increase awareness of Feet First’s mission
